The New Yuthok Institute for Tibetan Medicine is a cutural association founded in Milan in 1999 by Professor Pasang Yonten Arya Tendi Sherpa, and a number of his students to preserve and propagate Tibetan Medicine and culture in the West.
The association is a center for study and research for Tibetan Medicine, art of healing (Sowa Rigpa), Tibetan Buddhist psychology, Tibetan Astrology and related science and culture of Tibet.
The courses and seminars are open to all the interested people, without any distinction of race, culture or faith.
Presently the following courses are held in the Institute:
- a four-year course in traditional Tibetan Medicine (Sowa-rigpa)
- a three-year course in Tibetan Psychology
- and a six-year in Tibetan Astrology, divided in 3 levels, each level lasting 2 years.
Throughout the year, the Institute also organizes seminars, workshops and conferences related to the Tibetan medical science and culture and their significance in the West.

Prof. Pasang Yonten Arya, was born in Tibet, and graduated in Tibetan Medicine, Pharmacology and Tibetan Astrology, at the Tibetan Astro-medical Institute (Men-tsee-khang) of Dharamsala, India. He worked as a director and professor of Tibetan Medicine at the Men-tsee-khang Tibetan medical college and has taught Tibetan Medicine for many years.
He participates in national and international leading conferences in Tibetan Medicine in Europe, U.S.A. and Asia, and teaches Tibetan Medicine in Italy, Germany and Switzerland.

Dr. Loksang Shrestha was born in Tibet and completed his study at the Central Tibetan School in India. He studied Tibetan Medicine from Dr. Kusang (Kunphen Tibetan Medical Center) in Kathmandu, Nepal. In 1989 he visited Europe and later America to give seminars, conferences and workshops on Tibetan Medicine and massage. He is specialized in Tibetan massage therapy and practice for the last 18 years. In 1997 he resettled in Barcelona with his family and introduced two Tibetan Medicine Associations in Switzerland and Spain. He is a leading Tibetan massage teacher in the West. He has participated in many national and international congresses.
