Chronic digestive and intestinal disorders
in traditional Tibetan Medicine

Prof. Pasang Y. Arya

The chronic digestive and intestinal energetic disorders are very much found in all societies. Many people think of them as a simple and general common problem but it actually also covers distinct and complicated disorders. Tibetan medicine considers problems related to digestion as very harmful to health because digestion is regarded as the root of the health. According to Tibetan traditional medicine Sowa Rigpa, there are 16 different disorders types of the stomach disorders, five of the small intestine, and five others in the large intestines. Other chronic disorders are also described separately. There is no doubt that bad food quality of food, lack of knowledge on one’s own natural constitution and unawareness of nutritional support and behavior etc. also make manifest other digestive disorders.

Prof. Pasang Y. Arya will present the major cause and conditions of these disorders and the way to heal them as well as restore and promote the digestion function through appropriate nutrition and behavior, Tibetan healing yoga and other supporting therapies.
